On a more serious note though according to my fellow Nigerians, who has "fun" helped? (just kidding). Fun is important.
I personally believe fun is vital for a healthy life, my personal preference though is that I have fun on something worthwhile i.e. it has to be good enough to spend my time, effort or money on. Yeah money is the least on this hierarchy because unlike time and effort you can get more money (please note that down). I'll explain. A grand ma once told me that at her old age what she really loves is not the money her children send her that the experience is nothing compared to them coming back home with oranges to share with her or cook for her, little children on the other hand will readily give back half of their money for double of the time their parents spend with them. Those are the two sets of people I enjoy learning from.
Now back to the gist. As I was saying, I enjoy giving my time to something/the people really important to me, and I deliberately enjoy the process.
I believe we can condition ourselves to find joy and fun in those supposedly difficult tasks that on the long run makes us holistically better persons; loving our family and doing work we love.
On this note, may I will share with you one of my philosophy of life: "If something is really important to you, make it your fun." - Alexander Asomba
